The
Cyclades are a group of islands scattered
around the Aegean Sea,
forming a rough circle, or kyklos, around the island of Delos,
the legendary birthplace of Artemis
and her brother Apollo.
The Cyclades,
a fascinating synthesis of small worlds, are seductive for their variety,
the blue sea and the beautiful beaches, their individual architecture, the
narrow alleyways of the villages, for their inhabitants' free perception
of life.
